Licensed Landscaping in Cedar Park, TX 78613 - Hill Country Water Gardens & Nursery
1407 N Bell Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613
Business Background
Hill Country Water Gardens & Nursery has deep roots in the Texas landscape. Owner John's journey began on a waterlogged farm in the Katy Prairie, continued through his studies at Texas A&M, and led to a pivotal role with a world-renowned water lily hybridizer. This lifelong immersion in aquatic life laid the foundation for the nursery. In 2000, after a decade in coaching, he turned his passion into a profession, opening the nursery on 2 acres in Cedar Park with a focus on creating a destination for water features. Fourteen years later, that vision has flourished across 5 acres of demonstration ponds, streams, and gardens, evolving into a full-service garden center. While aquatic plants, koi, and fountains remain at its heart, the nursery now offers a comprehensive selection of perennials, trees, and shrubs suited for Central Texas, alongside professional design and installation services for both water gardens and landscapes.

Question Answers
Do you offer landscape design and installation for patios and walkways in addition to water features?
Yes, we provide comprehensive landscape construction services. Our team handles the design and installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and full landscapes, seamlessly integrating them with water features like ponds and streams. Whether you're looking to build a new outdoor living space from the ground up or add a water element to an existing garden, our in-house professionals can manage the entire project.
How can you help with common Cedar Park lawn issues like moss or insect damage?
Moss often indicates too much shade or poor drainage, while insect damage can stem from an imbalance in the landscape. Our approach starts with a site assessment. We can recommend solutions like adjusting irrigation, improving soil drainage, or selecting more appropriate, hardy native plants that are naturally more resistant to local pests. For DIY gardeners, we offer coaching; for larger issues, our landscaping team can implement corrective construction and planting plans.
As a DIY customer, what kind of in-store support do you provide for building a water garden?
We're built to support DIY projects. You can browse our 5 acres of show ponds for inspiration, then get hands-on help from our staff. We offer water testing, advice on plant selection (like hardy water lilies for our climate), potting services, and guidance on everything from liner installation to pump setup. We provide the products and knowledge so you can successfully create your own backyard oasis.
