Q&A
What types of ground coverings do you recommend for drainage in Spanaway?
For our local soil conditions, we often recommend crushed rock or gravel as a stable, permeable base for improving drainage in gardens and around foundations. We carry a variety of sizes and colors to suit your project. For areas needing soil amendment, our Cedar Grove Compost is excellent for enhancing water absorption in garden beds.
Do you offer materials that can help protect landscape edging from damage?
Yes. A common issue in our area is edging being pushed out by frost heave or root growth. Using a compactable base material like crushed rock behind or beneath your edging can provide stability and drainage, reducing shifting. We can help you select the right type and amount of rock to reinforce your borders and extend their lifespan.
I'm planning a new garden bed. What soil and compost mixes do you provide?
We offer several blends to give your plants a healthy start. Our premium topsoil is ideal for raising beds, and we recommend mixing it with our nutrient-rich mushroom compost or Cedar Grove Compost to improve soil structure and fertility. Our staff can help you calculate the correct amounts for your specific project, whether it's a small vegetable patch or a larger landscaping job.
